The old man emu BP51 shock absorber is thus able to offer the best of both worlds, with comfortable and flexible driving during normal driving and more controlled driving on more difficult terrains.
With higher damping levels generated at each end of the stroke, the piston slows down as it approaches full compression and extension, thus avoiding abrupt contacts against the stop and making it easier to absorb larger bumps and undulations.
